The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events in world in the summer every four years. With the 2018 World Cup only being 2 years away, stadiums are being built in the host country Russia. With that being said, FIFA needs to hire a lot of people to build those stadiums which normally do and people may think that they get treated and paid really good for risking their lives every day on building 40-60,000 plus capacity stadiums. Well I have recently learned migrant workers have been hired from all over the world and they aren't exactly being treated and paid as good as I thought they would. A worker building one of the many stadiums being built in Russia father of two children lost his home because FIFA delayed his pay three months! Those workers are being forced to work even if they get paid three months late. I think that FIFA should not make them work and they should pay the workers on time so no one has to lose their home do to late pay.

I agree, everyone should be paid evenly no matter what. Despite their race or personal problems they all do the same amount of work, therefor they should be paid what everyone else does and on time.
ReplyDeleteI think that them losing their house because FIFA cant pay on time is absolutely ridiculous. Therefore FIFA should compensate for their lost home
ReplyDeleteI am a little triggered by this situation because personally if I was in that worker's shoes, I would not be a happy camper. Not many people if any, would be willing to do labor work for free of charge. FIFA is in need of workers and the workers are in need of the money otherwise they wouldn't be willing to take on the job. It's a win, win situation, that's how it works. Therefore I agree with Brad on this one, I too find this to be very ridiculous. Do you happen to know of the reasoning behind why FIFA was paying poorly and not on time?
