The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events in world in the summer every four years. With the 2018 World Cup only being 2 years away, stadiums are being built in the host country Russia. With that being said, FIFA needs to hire a lot of people to build those stadiums which normally do and people may think that they get treated and paid really good for risking their lives every day on building 40-60,000 plus capacity stadiums. Well I have recently learned migrant workers have been hired from all over the world and they aren't exactly being treated and paid as good as I thought they would. A worker building one of the many stadiums being built in Russia father of two children lost his home because FIFA delayed his pay three months! Those workers are being forced to work even if they get paid three months late. I think that FIFA should not make them work and they should pay the workers on time so no one has to lose their home do to late pay.

Soccer culture developing
Soccer in America is not the most popular sport like baseball, football, and basketball. Most American's say that soccer is not their favorite sport but they have played it or have been involved in it somehow. T.V. broadcasters don't air soccer games in America because not a lot of American's like to watch it cause of the lack of scoring or exciment in a game. Just because there isn't of scoring in a soccer game doesn't mean it cant be exciting to watch. The excitement can be from a pass or a shot or even a good save from a goalkeeper. Those who don't like the sport of soccer see it as a boring sport cause there isn't a lot of scoring like there is in football or basketball. Therefor t.v broadcasters mostly air sports that most Americans like. The 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP was the most watched sport in the summer of 2014 in America. It had 24 million viewers which breaks records in America for past world cups. Soccer is growing here in America slowly but surely. There are around 13 million Americans that play soccer here in the states.

Peoples Superstions
In the book I'm reading "Mexican Whiteboy" one of the characters Uno has a superstition. His superstition has to do with a sign that's by the railroad tracks where he hangs out by. He gets five rocks and if at least three out of the five hit the sign then his wish will come true. Uno takes Danny to the railroad tracks and has him make a wish and throw the rocks. Well I to have a superstition when it comes to soccer. My superstition is that when I am getting ready for a game or even practice, I always have to put on my gear on my right leg first and I also have to put on and take off my right glove before my left. For games, while we warm up I cant have my jersey on or my shin guards. If I don't get ready in this exact way for every game or practice then I feel uncomfortable and feel like I wont perform as well as I am capable of. I'm sure people have many different superstitions and if they don't follow through then they wont fell comfortable.

Life Without a Father
Life without a Father can be very hard, especially while growing up. In the book I'm reading "Mexican Whiteboy" Danny, one of the main characters in the book, has parents who are divorced. So he doesn't live with his dad cause his dad moved to Mexico after his parents divorced. Well I can relate to Danny cause I too only live with my mom. For a boy growing up without a father at home could be hard. A boy won't have someone to come talk to when he has a bad game for whatever sport he play's. He won't be taught how to respect women unless they have an uncle or someone who is a male who is kind of like a father figure to him, luckily for me I had my uncle, my dads brother to always looked out for me since before I was even born. For Danny, his uncle Ray his dads brother is like a father figure for him because he looks out for Danny. For example, when Danny got the stitches his uncle Ray asked Danny who had done that to him and even though Danny didn't tell him the truth, Uncle Ray still told him that nobody messed with him and that he would do anything even if it meant he had to go to jail. Even though he'll have his mom it wont be the for him because sometimes there's things that he wont feel comfortable talking about certain things.

The rapist cop pays the price
This article is about a police officer in Oklahoma City who was sentenced 263 years in prison for "on-duty rapes, sexual assaults". Which means he raped many different girls while he was on his job. He reaped girls as young as 17 years old up to a 57 year old grandma. He committed sex crimes against 13 African American women when he was on duty patrolling a low-income neighborhood. He chose women who he knew would be too scared to tell someone. Also that if they did tell on him no one would believe them or would care. He had 18 different charges against him some like 1st degree rape, Sexual Battery, Forcible Oral Sodomy, etc. In my opinion anybody who wants to go into the law enforcement field should be under supervision at all times or should be partnered up with someone else so that way they aren't able to do things like this officer did. I believe people hiring any applicants should test these people more and make it more difficult than it already is so that they do get people who actually want to protect the community and hurt them or victimize them.

Transfer El Chapo to America
As many of you have heard about Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman on the news lately, the most dangerous drug lord in Mexico. El Chapo has been recaptured and put back into "Mexico's highest security prison" in which he already has escaped from once after a month of being in there. El Chapo's workers built a mile long tunnel staring in a living room of a house and ended in shower stall in the cell El Chapo was in. They installed lights, a ventilation system, and a motorcycle which ran in railroad tracks. El Chapo escaped the "highest security prison" in Mexico, so I think that
Mexico's government should transport El Chapo to America so that he's actually in a "highly secured prison". If El Chapo escaped the prison in Mexico once he can do it again at any given time. By bringing him to America into a better prison where his chances are less likely of escaping ,then there would be less crime and drugs happening in Mexico. A lot of people in Mexico especially young teens are being introduced to drugs and crime. People are scared to be out on the streets cause he has many people who work for him and kill anyone gets in his way or gives any information about him to authorities or news reporters. If he left Mexico teens would stay in school and stop doing drugs and violence would decrease, also people would be able to go out and do whatever it is they need to do that day without being afraid of them getting shot by one of El Chapo's workers. Parents would be more calm in letting their children go outside and play knowing El Chapo is in a "higher security prison" out of the country.

The quake-maker you've never heard of: Cascadia
The earth is revealing signs of an earthquake getting ready to attack and its coming from deep down in the earth. This earthquake could make history in North America being it will be the most powerful earthquake to ever happen if it erupts entirely. This earthquake if it decides to strike is at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. It reaches 700 miles along the Pacific Northwest. It reaches from British Columbia's Vancouver through Washington and Oregon down to Northern California. The Cascadia, the name of this earthquake has some history from 2011 when it hit Japan. There is a website called "Aftershock" that allows people who live in Oregon to look up the risk they're in depending in the area they live in. If and when this earthquake decides to erupt it can injure more than 26,000 and kill up to 11,000 people. This Cascadia earthquake can be up to a 9.0 magnitude earthquake plus a tsunami.

Suicide, substance abuse not only cause of 'mortality gap' for middle-aged white Americans
Princeton University made headlines when they did a study on the death rate of middle-age white Americans. The ages 45-54 has been increasing over the passed 15 years. Those deaths occur because people accidently poison themselves from an overdoes of drugs or alcohol. Bluementhal and Squires say that death rates have been declining by 2% per year in the United States since 1968. it has declined through most of the age groups and also races and ethnic groups. Heart disease is the second reason why middle-aged Americans die.For African-Americans and Hispanics the death rate is rapidly decreasing. In seven states the expected death rates for middle-aged white americans exceeded to 200 deaths per 100,000 people.Minnesota had the smaller gap with 59 extra deaths for every 100,000 people.
